Elderly Veteran Walks Miles To Visit Wife In Nursing Home

It's a good thing that Weaver Police Officer Charles Plitt stopped to check on an old man walking on the side of the road who looked exhausted.. because if he hadn't, we wouldn't know about this beautiful true-life love story.

James Wright is a Vietnam Veteran, and he's 70 years old, but almost every single day he puts one foot in front of the other to go visit his wife, who is in a nursing home.. she has dementia and only responds to James.

James says "I don't care if it's raining, snowing, or what, I'm going to see my wife. Even if I have to crawl."

But now, thanks to Lt. Plitt, it seems that James will be getting some much-needed help.  The community is rallying to repair his truck, and arrange rides for him so that he can see "the most beautiful woman in the world" because "she's always been there for me."

See Lt. Plitt's facebook post for more information on this wonderful man and his undying love for his wife..
