Increased Threats To Pets In CT

With more and more homes and businesses being built in Connecticut, there is less space for wildlife, and that means Bears, Coyotes, Fisher Cats, Bobcats, and other predators will be moving into your backyard, or rather, YOU may have moved into THEIR territory..

Just within the last few months, there have been three reports of Coyote attacks on dogs, two were fatal.

And don't think large dogs are safe, one family pet that was killed was 40 pounds, and a Pit Bull was injured recently too.

Fisher Cats are a whole NEW problem, and yes, they can and DO attack cats and/or small dogs, but could also do damage to a larger dog.

Also, Coyotes in CT and other Eastern states are larger than their relatives out West, mainly because of their interbreeding with Canadian Wolves.. so even more reason to be super careful even when you DO have your dog on a leash in the woods..
