New App Helps Blind People Do Everyday Things

The new Be My Eyes App allows a blind or visually impaired person to 'read' labels and do some of those things that would have been impossible before..

Here's how it works, according to the Be My Eyes website:  A blind person requests assistance in the Be My Eyes app. The challenge that he/she needs help with can be anything from knowing the expiry date on the milk to navigating new surroundings.

Then, help comes from a volunteer who gets a notification and then sets up a live video connection. From the live video, they can help the blind person by answering the question.
