Most Rawhide chews that are NOT made in the USA are toxic, not ALL, but buyer beware!
Here in the United States, hides are transported in refrigerated trucks, while other countries usually use chemicals to preserve the hides during transport..
However, you have to read that label CAREFULLY, as some companies will put a picture of the American flag on the package, or even say 'made from American beef' when in fact the chew was actually produced in another country! (click HERE for details on this type of deception and how to avoid it)
You want to literally look for 'Made In The USA' on the packaging, or if they're being imported, that they come from 'free-range' herds, for example. Again, read that label, even the fine print! When in doubt, don't buy.
And, did you know there are different kinds of 'chewers'?? Yes, every dog is unique and it's good to be careful what kind of chew or bone you're giving them, plus always keep an eye on your canine to prevent choking, fractured teeth, or punctures and cuts..
