Hartford Almost Got The Patriots 20 Years Ago Today

Twenty years ago today, the New England Patriots announced they planned on moving to Hartford, Connecticut. Patriots owner Robert Kraft and former Gov. John Rowland held a news conference on November 19, 1998 to announce the news. The state would've built a $380 million stadium on the waterfront. On April 1999 the deal crumbled and the team officially notified Connecticut that the move to Hartford was off.
