So the Bird Box Challenge is a thing … If you watched Bird Box, starring Sandra Bullock, on Netflix over the holidays you know that the characters had to blindfold themselves to avoid looking at a mysterious creature. We’ll leave it at that in case you haven’t seen it. But now people have decided to mimic the movie and are willingly blindfolding themselves and wandering around. The #BirdBoxChallenge rules are simple: Put on a blindfold and attempt to do everyday tasks. And, of course, upload videos of yourself on social media. What could go wrong?

The company took to Twitter with the following statement: "Can't believe I have to say this, but: PLEASE DO NOT HURT YOURSELVES WITH THIS BIRD BOX CHALLENGE. We don't know how this started, and we appreciate the love, but Boy and Girl have just one wish for 2019 and it is that you not end up in the hospital due to memes." (Pop Sugar
