On typical Wednesday evening, Kim Castillo was out with family and 5-year-old son, Milo Castillo at a restaurant called Laurenzo’s when a customer disrespected the Castillo family. Watch this video.
The family sitting adjacent to the Castillo family made quite a rude comment about Milo, who has down syndrome, saying “Special needs children need to be special somewhere else.” This prompted the waiter, Michael, who was intolerant of the comment to not serve the family. They insisted that they would leave if they didn’t get served and Michael stood firm on his word.
Though the Castillo family is familiar with Michael, Kim never expected him to put his job on the line by standing up for her child – but she is very grateful.
In addition, Michael’s kind deed has been applauded by his friends, family, other patrons, and most importantly his employers. The Laurenzo family, who own the Laurenzo’s restaurant, supported Michael’s decision.
