Noah Greaney’s first Christmas wasn’t very magical. He was just 3 and a half weeks old and he spent it at Yale New Haven Childrens Hospital recovering from emergency stenosis gastro intestinal surgery.
Obviously he didn’t remember it but still has the teddy bear Santa gave him, and that got him to thinking about what it’s like for kids who have to spend the most wonderful time of the year fighting in a hospital.
So in 2019 at the ripe old age of 6 he decided to do a toy drive for Yale New Haven Childrens and he managed to collect an impressive 627 toys and books. Then Covid came and the 2020 and 2021 toy drives had to be put on hold.
Well Noah’s Toy Drive is back and the now 8 year old is determined to collect 1,000 toys he can divide between Yale and CCMC. And it starts today with collection points opening at the Simsbury Fire Department Main Station and at American Medical Response on Shield St in West Hartford.
