State parks & areas with alcohol ban

The Department of Energy & Environmental Protection (DEEP) in Connecticut has issued an order to keep a few public places free of alcohol this summer. In the past, these few places, seven to be exact, have seen some rowdiness and unruly crowds. Obviously keeping everyone safe and having a good time this summer is the number one priority of not only the DEEP, but parents and families as well. Keep in mind the following parks and areas will be ALCOHOL FREE until September 5th:

The alcohol ban is in effect at these parks:

  • Gardner Lake State Park and State Boat Launch, Salem
  • Paugussett State Forest (upper section)/George Waldo State Park, Southbury
  • Wadsworth Falls State Park, Middletown/Middlefield
  • Lake Waramaug State Park, New Preston
  • Quaddick State Park, Thompson
  • Beach Pond State Boat Launch, Voluntown, including a portion of Pachaug State Forest
  • Billings Lake State Boat Launch, North Stonington, including a portion of Pachaug State Forest
