Turkey hunting season is open starting today in the State of Connecticut! The CT DEEP wants to make sure everyone is hunting safely and doing it all on the up and up. The season runs from April 27th to May 28th, starting 30 minutes before sunrise to sunset. Hunters can harvest a total of 5 bearded turkeys on state or private land as the "bag limits" no longer apply. If you're on private land, you do need written permission from the landowner on DEEP forms. All turkeys harvested MUST be tagged and reported to DEEP within 24 hours either ONLINE or by calling 1-877-337-4868. Get your turkey tags HERE . Get all the info you need to obtain your hunting license HERE. BE SAFE and stay aware there are others out there hunting too! GOOD LUCK!
