In February, 75-year-old Peggy Moore of Kansas City, Missouri, paid an HVAC contractor $5-thousand to fix her home’s air conditioner, but the work never got done. She tried working with the contractor to resolve the problem, but kept getting the runaround and as summer set in, her house was a blistering 90-degrees inside!
After pleading with her contractor multiple times without a response, Moore reached out to a local TV station for help. The very next day, the contractor contacted her and said he’d finish the job. While he was at Moore’s house working on the AC, a reporter from the TV station showed up and the contractor took off rather than answer any questions. Whatever work the contractor performed that day had no effect on the temperature inside Moore’s home.
Fortunately, Moore’s dilemma was finally resolved when Harry Frame of Service 1st Contractors saw her story on TV and offered to help her at no charge. He inspected her AC, found it was too small for the home, and replaced it with a brand-new one. After months of living in the heat, Moore was able to be cool inside her home and she is thankful that so many people cared enough to help her. And Frame was happy to be able to do some good for someone and hopes his actions will lead to that happening a little more often.
