BOY USES SLINGSHOT TO SAVE SISTER FROM ATTEMPTED KIDNAPPING

A Michigan teenager saved his eight-year-old sister from an alleged kidnapper by shooting the suspect with his slingshot. The girl was mushroom-hunting in her backyard in Alpena Township when an unknown male emerged from the woods and attempted to kidnap her. She managed to break free, and her 13-year-old brother witnessed the attack and used his slingshot to shoot the assailant in the head and chest.

Lieutenant John Grimshaw from the Michigan State Police praised the teen's "extraordinary" actions, saying that the boy likely saved his sister from death or serious injury. The suspect fled the scene but was later found by state troopers at a nearby gas station and was easily identified by the injuries from the slingshot.

The 17-year-old suspect was taken into custody and allegedly confessed to planning on "severely beating the victim." He has been charged with multiple felonies including attempted kidnapping and is being held in the Alpena County Jail on $150-thousand bond.
