Cop Makes Delivery After Pregnant DoorDash Driver’s Car Hit

A police officer finished a delivery for a pregnant DoorDash driver who was in a car crash. First responders in Sterling Heights have been known to go above and beyond to serve their community, but this time an SHPD cop delivered dinner to a customer whose DoorDash driver was delayed after being involved in a car accident. Last week during a pretty severe ice storm in the town of Sterling Heights, working mom Brynna Fantozzi was making a DoorDash delivery with her three-year-old daughter in the back seat of their car.

Fantozzi, who is six months pregnant, was delivering dinner and groceries to a mom with four sick kids at home when someone ran into her car. "My belly hit the steering wheel, my head hit something, my glasses flew off," she says. While the crash was scary, fortunately Fantozzi and her daughter were unharmed. But she was stuck dealing with the wreck and the delivery would have to wait.

When Lieutenant David Allen of the Sterling Heights Police arrived on the scene, he says the pregnant mom was more concerned about her delayed DoorDash delivery than she was about the accident. So Allen went above and beyond the call of duty and delivered the food for her. "No matter what it takes, we'll get the job done," Allen says. Fantozzi was grateful for the officer’s kind act and he says he hopes that she gets a good review from the customer. He also claims that going the extra mile to help people out is just part of what they do every day, saying, “I think that happens more often in our job day-to-day than the bad stuff.”
