On his very first day of service, a U.K. police dog found a mother and her one-year-old baby, who’d been missing for two days. Police Constable Peter Lloyd and his German Shepherd partner, Max, had just finished their training together and were brought in to help in the search for a missing mom and her child. Max covered a significant area in his search and eventually led his handler to the pair in a remote area of Powys, Wales.
"I was really pleased that during our first operational deployment as a dog team, myself and Max were able to safely locate the missing mother and baby," PC Lloyd says in a press release. "Max remained focused throughout the long search and he proved invaluable when he reacted to the call for help which resulted in us locating them."
