Bar Owner Pulls Thousands Of Dollars Off Walls To Pay Staff

With business down, one California bar owner found a way to pay her staff during the coronavirus outbreak. Sherri Newman, co-owner of Jake’s Saloon, decided to pull down thousands of dollar bills that people have been putting up for decades.

The Inyo County bar relies on tourism and without that, they haven’t been busy. But Newman was able to pull enough money from the walls to give her employees $500 each. Now she says their goal is to stay afloat through the summer.
