Ashley Judd confirms how mom Naomi ended her own life

Last week, the day before The Judds were being inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame, Naomi Judd took her own life. Her daughters, Wynonna & Ashley made the decision to still attend the ceremony, saying their mom "lost her battle with mental illness". Of course the world assumed that meant Naomi took her own life. And Ashley sat down with Diane Sawyer and confirmed that was in fact the case, going so far as to say exactly HOW she did it.  "I'm tasked [with] disclosing the manner of the way my mother chose not to continue to live. And I've thought about this so much because once I say it, it cannot be unsaid. Because we don't want it to be a part of the gossip economy." You can hear what Ashley said in the interview below. But more importantly, listen to what she says about mental health. "Her brain hurt. It physically hurt. Our mother couldn't hang on until she was inducted into the [Country Music] Hall of Fame by her peers. That is the level of catastrophe of what was going on inside of her. [When] we're talking about mental illness, it's very important to make the distinction between our loved one and the disease. It's very real, and it lies, it's savage. The lie that the disease told her was so convincing."
