Meet Tommy & Fritz from the Connecticut Humane Society

Meet Tommy:

  • 8 months old
  • Altered male
  • Pit bull/hound mix
  • Blonde

 Fun Facts on Tommy:

  • I can live in a single family home or condo.
  • I want to live with adults.
  • I am looking for a home that already has a dog friend for me.
  • I have not had much experience with cats. I may be willing to share my home with a feline.
  • I am a high energy kind of dog and am looking for a home where I can get lots of exercise every day.
  • I am a great dog with lots of potential. I need a very patient family with that has experience with training and socializing shy dogs.
  • ~ I am still learning and want to get off to a great start in my new home, so I will need to continue my training at CHS. (Obedience Training Required)

Tommy is our sweetest boy! This guy came from a home where he wasn't exposed to much, and he's been such a brave guy while he learns things like how to walk on a leash, meet new people, and how to play with new friends. Tommy needs another dog in his life to give him confidence while he continues to learn. And he needs a family who is patient and willing to keep teaching him!

Meet Fritz:

  • 11 years old
  • Altered male
  • Domestic medium-hair cat
  • White

Fun Facts on Fritz

  • I want to live with adults.
  • I am a quiet and reserved kitty. I would prefer a peaceful home.
  • For my own safety, I must be an indoor cat only.
  • I have not had much experience with cats. I may be willing to share my home with a feline.
  • I am diabetic and I would prefer a family who has experience managing a long-term health condition.

About CT Humane Society:

Way back in 1881, a Hartford High School senior named Gertrude O. Lewis wanted to find a way to help the animals of Connecticut. She gathered support in her community – including some of Connecticut’s most prominent citizens of the time – and that very same year, Gertrude founded the Connecticut Humane Society.

And all these years later, the work continues. CHS is the oldest and most comprehensive animal welfare organization in the state, serving thousands of pets every year. As an independent nonprofit organization, CHS does not receive any funding from the government and is not associated with any national animal welfare groups. The pets rely solely on the generosity and support of donors and volunteers.
