Spring Cleaning Tips

It’s time to clean house, and that means the pet’s areas too!

1. Check the pet pantry! A lot of foods and treats hold a long shelf life, but they do in fact expire. The last thing you want is spoiled food to get your pup sick.

2. Clean the food and water dishes! There is a lot of built up bacteria and saliva in pet bowls. We recommend cleaning them on a daily basis!

3. Clean the collar! Sure your pup gets a bath, but how many times have you removed the collar and washed that too? Soak it in warm water with some pet shampoo, rinse, and let air dry.

4. Make the dog beds! As a human, you wouldn’t want to sleep in a dirty bed, your pets don’t either! Vacuuming hair and dirt from the bed, and washing your pets bed in hot water with non-scented laundry detergent, will clean it right up!

5. Wash the pet toys! Pet toys according to the National Safety Federation are number SEVEN of the top 10 germiest things in a house. You can wash them with hot water and mild dish soap, or on the top rack in the dishwasher. Stuffed toys can take a tumble in the washing machine (again with non-scented laundry detergent).
