If you're looking for a fun evening to get dressed up and support CT VOICE - This Saturday Foxwood's will host the first ever Connecticut VOICE Honors Gala celebrating leaders in the LGBTQ+ community in Connecticut.
The evening will include performances by Broadway performer Benjamin Eakley, Actor and Performer Varla Jean Merman, and comedian Julia Scotti.
This inaugural event is all about showing gratitude to individuals and organizations who go above and beyond to make Connecticut a great place to live and work for the LGBTQ+ community.
Below is a list of awards that will be presented:
- Connecticut VOICE Arts & Entertainment Award - Jacob G. Padrón
- Connecticut VOICE Advocacy Award - Kamora Harrington
- Connecticut VOICE Unsung Hero Award - Jackie Thurston
- Connecticut VOICE Commitment to Youth Initiatives Award - Julia Gordon
- Connecticut VOICE Small Business Award - CT Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce
- Connecticut VOICE Pride in Education Award - Southern Connecticut State University
- Connecticut VOICE Health Equity Award - Middlesex Health
- Connecticut VOICE Lifetime Achievement Award - Dayne Bachmann
- Connecticut VOICE Corporate Commitment Award - Stanley Black and Decker
- Connecticut VOICE People's Choice Award - Dayne Bachmann, LCSW
- Connecticut VOICE Political Leadership Award - Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro
"We chose these individuals, and organizations because they are leaders in supporting the LGBTQ+ community here in Connecticut,” said James Tully, Owner of Connecticut VOICE Magazine. “These individuals embody what it means to be inclusive helping establish Connecticut as a leader in the United States and one of the most positive and affirming places to live and work for the amazing and diverse people who identify as LGBTQ+.”
