Jelly Roll will officially become a member of the historic Grand Ole Opry next month.

The three-time Grammy winner’s Opry induction date is set for March 10, per a press release issued Thursday morning (February 19). Opry member and “Save Me” duet partner Lainey Wilson will induct Jelly Roll, and in a full circle moment, Opry member Craig Morgan will take the stage. Leanne Morgan, ERNEST and others are also set to perform. The Opry added in an Instagram post that Jelly Roll’s “inspiring story of redemption has captured fans around the globe, and that connection is undeniable every time he steps on the Opry stage. …A portion of ticket purchases will be donated to the Judge Dinkins Educational Center, a cause very close to Jelly Roll’s heart.”

Craig Morgan surprised Jelly Roll with his invitation to become a member of the Grand Ole Opry during an emotional moment on The Joe Rogan Experience in December 2025. Jelly Roll was a guest on the podcast, and host Joe Rogan surprised him with a pre-recorded message from the “That’s What I Love About Sunday” artist. Jelly Roll credits Craig Morgan with a “life changing” moment shortly after he was released from incarceration. Jelly Roll watched his fellow Tennessee-born country artist performing “Almost Home” on the legendary stage. Years later, Craig Morgan surprised Jelly Roll on stage, and the pair performed “Almost Home” together. Jelly Roll tearfully said “it don’t get no bigger in country music,” when he received his surprise Opry invitation.

“Man, I just could not be any more happy and proud of Jelly Roll, who he is and what he stands for, and the voice that he is for a lot of people who have felt like they’ve not had one,” Wilson said at a press event earlier this year in Nashville, Tennessee. “I think about some of the stories that he’s told me about his upbringing, his childhood, the things that he’s gone through. For him to be able to step into the Grand Ole Opry circle, I think it means more to him than any of us could ever fully wrap our heads around. …I’m proud of the country music industry for a lot of reasons, but I’m so thankful that we have embraced people like Jelly Roll who have so much to bring to the table and stories that need to be heard. I’m thankful also that the Opry has welcomed him with open arms. It says a lot about this community.”

Jelly Roll is among the country artists nominated at the 2026 iHeartRadio Music Awards, returning this spring to Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, California. See the list of country artists nominated here.
