Reba McEntire and Rex Linn have “pushed the wedding back” to focus on work.

McEntire, 70, caught up with Zuri Hall of E! News on the red carpet at the 2026 Grammy Awards. She shared that she and Linn postponed the wedding because of ongoing projects: “We're still waiting on a third season pickup from Happy’s Place. And Rex got picked up on Stick with Owen Wilson, so that pushed the wedding back. …He says, ‘Work comes first.’”

McEntire and Linn, 69, met while filming Kenny Rogers’ The Gambler Returns: The Luck of the Draw in the early 1990s. They reconnected while working on Young Sheldon in early 2020, went to dinner and have “been together ever since.” Currently, they star alongside one another in the NBC sitcom, Happy’s Place, which has since been renewed for a third season. McEntire and Linn publicly confirmed their engagement to Hall while speaking on the red carpet at the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards in September 2025; however, the country artist shared shortly afterward in an interview with PEOPLE that they’d been engaged since Christmas Eve 2024.

“We were going to make the announcement when we got back to L.A. in January, and the fires happened. And it wasn’t appropriate. …He’s very romantic. Very romantic,” McEntire said. “And I asked him, I said, ‘well, when do you want to do this?’ He said, ‘oh…let’s have fun with the engagement time.’ So, we haven’t set a date or anything. We’re just enjoying each other.”

McEntire and Linn have not shared a potential wedding timeline, but McEntire said during an appearance on TODAY that “a Reba-Rex wedding is going to be very different. It’s gonna be low key, lots of fun, lots of people, lots of food. Our big motto is ‘have fun.’”
