Thomas Rhett’s wife, Lauren Akins, jokingly revealed the gender of Baby No. 5.
On TikTok, Rhett shared a glimpse of his wife’s camouflaged look as she joined him duck hunting. Akins laughed, and said, “you know, I just thought it’d be really memorable to take our son hunting for the first time, and just — I’m assuming it’s a boy.
“That was the baby reveal. That was the gender reveal right there,” she continued with a laugh. She clarified, “I’m kidding. I don’t know. …It’s giving lots of boy energy after smoking that bird out of the sky. It was. It was like snowing feathers.”
Rhett recently shared a photo of himself wearing a pink hat, a headband with teddy bear ears, pink sunglasses and holding a blue want with a shimmering star on top. He wrote in his caption: “Y’all think this next one is a boy?”
Rhett and Akins are parents to four young girls, Willa Gray (10), Ada James (8), Lennon Love (5) and Lillie Carolina (3). They announced Akins’ pregnancy by updating the lyrics to Rhett’s hit 2017 single, “Life Changes”: “Life Changes”: “Well, I was wrapping my head around being a dad/ A big wrench got thrown in the plans we thought we had/ Now Lauren’s showing, got one on the way/ That’s five under 10, hey, what can I say?/ Yeah, life changes/ You wake up, ain’t nothin’ the same and life changes.”
