Jana Kramer paid tribute to her “dysfunctional movie family” as she gets ready for the premiere of her upcoming holiday movie, A Cowboy Christmas Romance. She also spoke about the film — including “some major spoilers” — on her latest episode of Whine Down with Jana Kramer, featuring Sarah Drew, who wrote the festive tale.
Kramer posted a snapshot with her fellow cast members on Instagram on Tuesday morning (November 28), marking an 11-day countdown until fans can watch A Cowboy Christmas Romance and “see how it all plays out.” The country artist, actress, author and podcast host shared that one of her favorite scenes was with Bruce Thomas, her father.
“I remember reading that scene and it had me crying while reading the script. It was the real family issues that struck the cord to do this movie,” Kramer wrote in her Instagram caption, crediting Drew with writing “this amazing script” and teasing the “major spoilers” on her podcast.
The latest episode of Whine Down with Jana Kramer, available as of Monday (November 27), got “spicy” as Kramer and Drew talked about it as “the first Christmas movie that has a sex scene,” which Kramer filmed while pregnant with Baby No. 3, her first with fiancé Allan Russell. She and Russell welcomed their son, Roman James Russell, earlier this month. Kramer dished about the “spoiler” during the podcast episode with Drew, who also speaks about her Grey’s Anatomy exit, “how a devastating career change helped lead her to a longtime passion,” and more. A Cowboy Christmas Romance also stars Adam Senn, Mary-Margaret Humes, Cassie Randolph, Curt Mega, Bruce Thomas, Lisa Lee and Max Ehrich. Kramer previously said the upcoming movie is “not what you’re going to expect.” It’s set to premiere on December 9.
