Reba McEntire is remembering a stunning wardrobe piece nearly three decades after wearing it during a performance, and one of her former co-stars is encouraging the country music icon to wear it again.
McEntire shared “just a little [Throwback Thursday]” on her social media channels on Thursday (September 29). She took hthe stage during the Country Music Association awards in a gorgeous red gown on September 29, 1993. McEntire delivered a powerful performance of “Does He Love You,” her iconic heartbreak duet featuring Linda Davis.
When McEntire paid tribute to her CMA Awards look from 29 years ago, it drew praise from her social media followers and other artists. “To Be Loved By You” singer Parker McCollum, for example, commented, “Good lord. Perfect,” as he watched McEntire’s performance. Her co-star, Melissa Peterman, offered the country star, “20 bucks if you wear that tonight and go do karaoke! 😊 ❤️”
McEntire and Peterman famously starred alongside one another in Reba, the beloved 2000s sitcom that also included JoAnna Garcia Swisher, Scarlett Pomers and Mitch Holleman as McEntire’s children, and Christopher Rich as McEntire’s ex-husband (who re-marries Peterman’s character). McEntire and Peterman are set to join forces again in a TV movie set to release in 2023, The Hammer, starring McEntire as Kim Wheeler, “an attorney who is appointed as a judge for Nevada's 5th district after the former judge's death. As the investigation into the death intensifies, Kim's sister, who runs the local brothel, becomes the prime suspect,” its description reads on IMDb.
