Subaru Donates 50K Socks, 50K Blankets To Homeless

Subaru of America announced that they plan to give 50-thousand blankets to homeless shelters across the country. This will be the second year in a row that the automaker has given blankets to homeless shelters having donated 50-thousand blankets last year. In addition to the blankets, Subaru will also give shelters 50-thousand pairs of socks.

Subaru of America president Thomas J. Doll says the donation is their way of supporting a shared community. “We’d like to thank shelters nationwide for the services they provide for those with the greatest need,” Doll says. “These blankets and socks are a sign of support for them, as well as a sign of compassion and encouragement for those they serve.”

More than 600 Subaru dealers across the country are teaming up with shelters in their communities to make the donation happen. Representatives from the dealers will personally deliver the donations. The blankets and socks are part of the Subaru Loves to Help initiative which is part of Subaru’s commitment to be a positive force in the communities where their associates live and work.
