A stray dog who was hiding inside a Texas woman’s SUV has found a forever home with the firefighter who rescued her. Maryanne Davidson says she was walking with friends and when they got back to her vehicle, they noticed a small dog underneath it.
The group tried to get the pup out, but she escaped, moving up into the engine compartment. At that point, they called a Dallas Fire-Rescue crew for help and firefighters took a tire off the SUV so they could access the engine compartment from the bottom and top to reach the dog.
Once they got her out, she was taken to Dallas Animal Services and Adoption Center. And two days later, James Tooter Hayes, one the firefighters who saved her, came to adopt her and named her Grace.
