Navy Vet Rescues Driver After Car Plummets Into Pacific Ocean

A driver smashed through a guardrail in Carlsbad, California, and his SUV plunged off a cliff into the Pacific Ocean. Miraculously, he survived and a retired Navy medic nearby rushed to help him.

The unnamed veteran was able to pull the man to safety and gave him first aid until first responders arrived. Police say the driver somehow only suffered non-life-threatening injuries, which seems impossible looking at the video footage of his Subaru Forester on its side in the ocean.

As for the good Samaritan who rescued him, authorities say he disappeared back up the cliff before they could even get his name.
