A North Carolina boy knew exactly how he wanted to spend his birthday - helping those in need in his community. Kieng Rivens’ had one request for his eighth birthday celebration, he told his mom, “I want to feed the homeless.”
“I was thinking of something everybody likes,” he says. “And everybody likes pizza.”
Antigua Ramsey says her son’s wish moved her to tears and she got to work to make it happen for him. She asked several pizza places if they could give her a discount on 100 pies and one place made her an even better offer. Gage Lock and his crew from a Papa John’s location in Charlotte not only donated 75 pizzas to the birthday celebration, they delivered them and brought helping hands to pass them out, as well as some birthday presents for Kieng. Friends and family also pitched in, helping hand out pies to homeless people living in a tent city in Charlotte, just like the birthday boy requested.
