A few weeks ago,Miles McCarvelcame home to find his 1972 Harley-Davidson motorcycle leaning up against his garage. He couldn’t believe what he was seeing and the reason for his shock? That bike had been stolen four years before.
McCarvel says the red Aermacchi Harley-Davidson Sprint looked exactly like it did the last time he saw it - the battery was still missing, the tires were flat and it didn’t have any new miles on it. It had been taken when his garage was broken in to while he was out of town and the bike was one of many items that were stolen. When it reappeared, he called the detective on the case to tell him it was “un-stolen” and he was just as surprised as McCarvel that it was returned.
He posted a photo of the motorcycle on Facebook and shared his thanks. “I built this bike when I was 20 years old! Glad to have it back,” he writes. “I guess there’s good things happening in the world too.”
