A Michigan man made a mistake when buying a lottery ticket, but it made him an extra million bucks! Samir Mazahem was using the Michigan lottery app to purchase a ticket for the Mega Millions drawing using his family’s birthdays. But when he logged back in to save those numbers, he accidentally bought an extra ticket with the same numbers.
When he figured out his error, he says he was “a little bummed,” but that all changed when he logged back in and found out he won twice, $1-million for each ticket! “Saying that I was stunned is an understatement,” Samir says. “I couldn’t believe it was real. It took several days for the reality to set in that my mistake had paid off to the tune of $2-million.”
Now that he’s a double millionaire, what will he be spending his fortune on? Samir says he plans to buy a home and save the rest for retirement.
