You never know when you’re going to hit it big! For one Virginia man, his lucky day came when he was waiting for his mom to finish shopping and he decided to try his luck in the lottery.
Herbert Scruggs tells that he bought a scratch-off ticket to pass time until his mother wrapped up her grocery run at a Food Lion store in Richmond. He literally couldn’t believe his luck when he scratched it off and passed it off to her to confirm he was a $200-thousand prize winner.
He’s still figuring out what he’ll do with the money and that’s because his win is still sinking in. “It feels sort of surreal,” Scruggs says. “It still hasn’t hit me yet.”
