Carrie Underwood Moved To Tears As 'Cry Pretty' Earns Platinum Status

Carrie Underwood's Cry Pretty album was certified Platinum for selling over one million copies. The country star was surprised and moved to tears after hearing the big news during the Country Radio Seminar in Nashville, Tennessee.

"This means a lot," Underwood said while on stage accepting a plaque. "I feel like this is the project that I've done and the album that I've done that was the most me, and the fact that you guys were just there supporting the whole way and didn't laugh at me when I said I wanted to produce, and were as equally excited about these songs as I was, just thank you. I'm honored and I'm humbled, and God is good."

Underwood has said on multiple occasions that Cry Pretty was her most personal album to date. "I feel like between Storyteller and Cry Pretty, there was definitely a lot of growth for me as a person- emotional growth and spiritual growth and my family," Underwood explained to her record label. "And I feel like just kind of taking more ownership in my thoughts and my feelings and my wants and my creative abilities, and just taking more ownership over all of those things, and wanting that to translate into this album."

Underwood wrapped up her massive "Cry Pretty Tour 360" in November 2019. She has not announced any tour plans for music, however, she did recently reveal a tour for her new book, FIND YOUR PATH: Honor Your Body, Fuel Your Soul, and Get Strong with the Fit52 Life. Underwood will travel to four cities in March to coincide with the arrival of the book on March 3. For more information on the upcoming book tour go here.
