A man was walking his dog when it got away from him, and fell into the icy water!
He jumped in after, but then couldn't get back out.
Bodycam video below from Chicago PD shows what happened next, as they formed a human chain to save the man and his young dog..
The man (who wishes to remain anonymous) cautions other pet owners to stay away from that area of Lake Michigan, and another part of the lake that includes a dog park, telling folks that he had no idea how fast his situation could turn deadly, and how grateful he is to the police officers who risked their own lives to save his.
