A major winter storm will impact Connecticut through the day today. Heavy snow and strong winds are likely with considerable blowing and drifting and the potential for scattered power outages. Near Blizzard Conditions at times will make driving conditions dangerous, especially along the shoreline. The storm will move out pretty quickly Thursday evening and it will be followed by an extreme cold stretch that lasts through the weekend. The temperature will likely not get above 10° inland and 15° at the Shoreline from Friday morning through at least midday Sunday.
