A family in Arkansas has been reunited with their dog after 10 long years apart. Razzle had gone missing in 2011 and had been gone so long, the Howards thought they’d never see him again. But luckily, the pup was microchipped so when he was found at a shelter across the country in Northern California, they were able to find his owners.
Unfortunately, Razzle wasn’t in good health at the time and rescuers knew he wouldn’t survive a two-leg flight across the country in a crate in animal cargo. And that’s when Jeremy Wade, a passionate dog rescuer, was called in to help. He says the dog’s “medical state was so fragile” that he volunteered to fly him the 16-hundred miles home personally.
“It was my pleasure to get to be a part of getting him home,” Wade says. “It was so wonderful to reach in and lift him out of the crate for them to see him for the first time.”
