A woman, who's 50, from Australia, spent the last 25 years going to bed with her eye makeup on. She recently had some irritation and discomfort that wouldn't go away with drops so she went to her doctor and what they found in her eye could have led to blindness. Clumps of mascara had embedded into her inner eyelid. They had to be surgically removed and she now has permanent scarring on her eyelid and cornea.
