Connecticut Kid Invents Medi-Teddy To Help Other Children

Ella is 13 years old and she wanted to make the hospital a little less scary for other kids.

She was seven when diagnosed with ITV, a platelet disorder, and needs IV infusions every 6 to 8 weeks.

When she was in the hospital, she thought the IV bags were intimidating, so for her 5th grade 'Invention Convention' she took a stuffed animal, removed the stuffing, glued a mesh bag on and voila! The Medi Teddy idea was born. Ella says 'it makes that part of the patient's experience more bear-able!'
